North Park Health and Rehabilitation Center gets a Treat!
On May 6th, North Park Health and Rehabilitation Center's 90 residents received an infusion of essential supplies for every resident! The collaboration of LIFT R&R, McKinney Chamber of Commerce Senior Services Alliance, Townecreek Apartments, and First United Bank was amazing! Collectively the residents received everything from much-needed socks to shampoo (literally something from head to toe) and everything in-between. It was so special working with all these organizations, We're so grateful for the awesome people who helped this year, like Christy Sadler and Kelly Presley from Townecreeke Apartments in McKinney. Their team of people that participated in the H.A.N.D.S Project, assembled over 90 bags filled with supplies! Project H.A.N.D.S. is such a phenomenal program, independently living seniors using their hands to do everything from assembling, flyers, sewing on fidgets, and the more, then doing all that for others, including seniors that are living in long term care facilities as they did for North Park Health and Rehabilitation Center! Thank you, Christy, Kelly, and the entire team of wonderful seniors in that program!
Sheila Williamson and Olia did a great job of rallying the supporters and purchasing supplies! When Sheila heard the need, she immediately jumped in and said our Senior Services Alliance Team would love to help! Their team purchased hundreds of dollars of essential supplies, what a great contribution! Denise from First United Bank brought us the durable bags, as they have been a trusted partner providing for this program each year since 2019 and we couldn't be more grateful! Finally, our LIFT R&R team purchased the remaining items to ensure all 90 residents received the same wonderful goodies and delivered them to North Park. Our board, made up of 5 Volunteers, gives of themselves in so many ways to ensure we continue our mission of connecting communities with no cost or low-cost resources. We will continue to make a difference in the lives of those less fortunate. Tina, the activities director at North Park, and her staff gave us a warm welcome. Her insight on what's needed to bring smiles to the faces of our elderly population has set a great foundation for how we can continue to help each year. Now that our Spring Into Action campaign for 2022 has concluded we are looking forward to serving these same wonderful seniors with our "A Senior's Holiday" program! This will include singing for them memorable songs like Santa Baby and All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth! These are songs they enjoy and remember from back in the day. The laughter from them fills the room. Each resident will also receive their own Christmas Basket filled with essentials and goodies for Christmas! If you would like to participate, volunteer, donate or purchase a Christmas basket for $25.00, please contact LIFT R&R at 518-551-6715 or email us at email@example.com.
