Volunteer McKinney works side-by-side with local nonprofits and groups by providing volunteer recruitment, leadership events, volunteer management training and consulting.

Here are a few new opportunities:
• Strikes Against Cancer is seeking volunteers to help with the May 4 weekend baseball tournament benefiting research in the fight against cancer. Some of the opportunities include data entry using PC or iPad, distributing flyers, placing signs at the fields, and assisting with various activities the days of the tournament. • Grace Lake Ministries provides therapeutic horsemanship to individuals with physical, social and emotional developmental problems. They currently have two volunteer positions. One is for a bookkeeper to maintain financial records using Quickbooks and related duties. Time requirements include one to three hours, one day a week. The other position, Volunteer Coordinator, requires 4 to 8 hours per week and could possibly become a part-time paid position. The duties include volunteer management, scheduling, and recruitment. • Share! High School Exchange Program. Share the American way of life with an international exchange students for a semester or a school year. The students speak English, are covered by medical insurance, and have spending money for their personal expenses. Hosts can review applications and select the student that will best match their family. Host families are diverse: single adults, married couples with and without children, seniors, or empty-nesters.
