Volunteer McKinney works side-by-side with local nonprofits and groups by providing volunteer recruitment, leadership events, volunteer management training and consulting.

Part of their mission statement says: "By working together, the benefit to this community is multiplied. We all share a common goal and that is to make McKinney the best it can be."

Here are a few new opportunities:

Collect Items for Clients. Community Lifeline Center needs a variety of items for their clients. If you or your group would like to organize a collection drive to collect items that will help meet the organization’s mission, look for contact information on the Volunteer McKinney website. Click on “Organize a Collection Drive.”

Woodworking skills. Chestnut Square Historic Village needs someone to rebuild wooden items such as porches, trellises, benches, chairs, and sheds throughout the year. If you need an Eagle Scout project or have the skills to do this type of work, please contact us. Look for “Build It” under Updated Opportunities on the Volunteer McKinney website.

Landscaper. Do you enjoy working with plants and maintaining landscapes? Chestnut Square has the perfect position for you. Maintenance duties include trimming tree limbs and shrubs, planting new garden items, cleaning windows, and keeping grounds trash-free. No experience is required – just an enjoyment of plants. For more information, look for “General Grounds Maintenance” on the Volunteer McKinney website.
