At the First Annual McKinney Youth Summit held in April, over 150 community leaders and stakeholders met to brainstorm on ideas and programs to help at-risk teens.

The first project of this collaboration is the McKinney Youth Resource Guide, which can now be found on Volunteer McKinney’s website at The button on the home page entitled “Youth Empowerment” will take readers to the downloadable Youth Resource Guide. Click here to go directly to the page.

This is a living document and Volunteer McKinney wants as many agencies that are willing to work with youth and/or their families to be listed. The focus is on the McKinney area, and agencies located outside of the area are often too far to travel for teens.

If you want your agency listed, or if the existing listing needs to be changed or updated, contact Dana Riley at

Volunteer McKinney is also continuing the work of compiling the information and ideas that were gathered at the Youth Summit on the Yellow Cards and the flip charts. They will post that information on the website as soon as it is finished. Photos and videos from the event will also be posted to the website.
