McKINNEY (April 29, 2015) — Habitat for Humanity of North Collin County and Thrivent Financial are teaming up again to help the Rockwall neighborhood in McKinney through the Thrivent Build Repairs Program. Through this program Thrivent Financial funded $12,500 in home repairs for NCC Habitat renovation projects.
NCC Habitat operated five job sites, staffed by 100 volunteers from Christ Fellowship Church. Five homes in McKinney received exterior painting, landscaping and clean-up which helped to re-establish a safe, decent place to live for these families. Work will continue this weekend on the five homes.
“It’s always exciting to partner with such a great organization as Habitat for Humanity to make a positive impact in our local community,” said Jason Jupiterwala, a financial representative with Thrivent Financial. “The ability for us to come together and provide a hand up to people in need of affordable home repairs is a great opportunity for us to live generously and change people’s lives.”
Thrivent Financial is committing $12 million nationally to the 2015 partnership, which will be used to serve families and mobilize volunteers through three programs: Thrivent Builds Homes, Thrivent Builds Worldwide and Thrivent Builds Repairs.
Thrivent Financial remains the largest non-governmental supporter of Habitat for Humanity International.

About the North Collin County Habitat for Humanity
North Collin County Habitat for Humanity (NCC Habitat) is part of a global, nonprofit housing organization operated on Christian principles. We put God’s love into action by building homes and communities. We are dedicated to eliminating substandard housing locally and worldwide. We encourage positive relationships throughout the community by advocating for fair housing policies and by providing training to help families improve their shelter conditions. NCC Habitat was incorporated in 1992. We enable families throughout northern Collin County (Anna, Celina, Farmersville, Frisco, McKinney, Melissa, Princeton and Prosper) to achieve the dream of home ownership and dignity. With the help of partnerships, NCC Habitat has built over 97 houses. We also have started a new program called “A Brush With Kindness” where we help low income families with exterior repairs including roof, siding, paint and general clean up. We’ve served 81 families through this program (mostly seniors). Internationally, NCC Habitat has built 34 homes in Mexico, Egypt, Asia Tsunami and Honduras. Habitat also operates a ReStore that is open to the public Tuesday through Saturday. We sell new and gently used building materials and furniture to the public.
