Big things are happening for veterans now that the Collin County Veterans Coalition has been formed. Supporters of veterans services are fired up to make navigating the world of veterans services easier and more effective for the men and women who have served our country.

The Collin County Veterans Coalition will meet on Friday, Feb. 8, from 10 a.m. to noon for the first official meeting since its November 2012 inaugural event. The meeting will be held at American Legion Post 321 in Plano. Veterans, veteran supporters and representatives of veterans programs and services are highly encouraged to attend. The agenda will include updates on proposed initiatives from the inaugural meeting, as well as updates on future plans of the coalition. Guest speaker Angie Bado of the TownSquareBuzz Foundation, will speak to the group about raising awareness about veterans services. Raising awareness of existing veterans services throughout the county was determined to be the top concern of coalition members at the initial meeting.

The mission of the coalition is to provide education, support and networking opportunities to all veterans living in Collin County.
