The City of McKinney is growing fast – and the Fire Department is growing with it

The McKinney Fire Department and city officials will hold a dedication ceremony for McKinney Fire Station # 9 on Wednesday, Jan. 31 at 11:00 a.m.  at 4900 Summit View Drive. Fire Chief Danny Kistner will host the ceremony. Neighbors and city leaders will be there to help celebrate with a push-in ceremony and tours of the new facility.

Fire Station #9 will serve other communities in the northwest part of McKinney including the Summit View Lake and Heatherwood neighborhoods. They welcome the community to attend and check out McKinney's first new fire station in seven years.

“Our city is growing in leaps and bounds and we are thankful to be able to meet the growth with top-notch facilities and personnel,” said McKinney Fire Chief Daniel Kistner. “This facility will not only serve the northwest area of McKinney but also be used as a training facility for firefighters throughout the department.”

Fire Station #9 contains the latest technology and will house a number of training enhancements including a rappelling wall and confined space training to be utilized by all McKinney firefighters.
