During Breast Cancer Awareness Month this October and continuing year-round, Landmark Bank is partnering with the National Breast Cancer Foundation’s (NBCF) Give. Change. Campaign to serve as a site for HOPE kit distribution. HOPE kits are carefully curated boxes of items meant to comfort and encourage individuals undergoing breast cancer treatment. As a distribution site, Landmark will provide HOPE kits to community members in need, as well as to friends and family of patients who wish to personally deliver or have them mailed to loved ones.
“There are so many of us at Landmark Bank that have been personally affected by breast cancer not only at this branch but companywide,” says Michelle Dahl, Landmark’s senior vice president, business banking – Texas and Oklahoma. “Landmark team members Alex Myers and Stephanie Pratt initiated our involvement with the NBCF, and after meeting with the organization and touring their office, we learned what they truly stand for and what they do worldwide. Landmark Bank is so community focused, and it is nice to share the same compassion as NBCF.”
Each HOPE kit contains fuzzy socks, a tumbler, tea, unscented lotion, lip balm, inspirational bracelet, educational resources and a HOPE journal where they can record their feelings and experiences through treatment. As a HOPE kit distribution center, Landmark’s Frisco branch will carry the HOPE kits on site.
“If you or anyone you know is being affected by breast cancer, then that person can come to the branch and simply ask any banker for a HOPE kit,” Dahl says. “The only information we need is the name of the person with breast cancer and their address (or at least what city they are located in).”
HOPE kits may be picked up at Landmark Bank at 11811 Custer, Frisco, TX 75035. For HOPE kits being delivered out of town, NBCF will cover the cost of shipping.
To learn more about the NFCF HOPE kits, including how to sponsor a kit for a woman with breast cancer, how to send one to a loved one or how to volunteer, raise money or partner with the program, please visit nationalbreastcancer.org/breast-cancer-support/hope-kit. Donations made to the Give. Change. Campaign go to the NBCF in efforts to provide help and inspire hope in those affected by breast cancer through early detection, education and support services.
