McKinney, TX -- The John Abston Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution, McKinney, Texas, has selected Patria Rodgers to be our 2020 Women in American History award winner. This award is given throughout the country to women past and present n American history, including women who are, or have been, intellectual, educational, social, religious, political, scientific, or cultural innovators.
Pat retired as assistant principal in the McKinney Independent School District. She then served for 12 years as a teacher trainer with the Indian Bureau. You may have seen Pat in costume at Chestnut Square, as as a guide on the McKinney Trolley Tours, sharing historical facts and knowledge about our community. We thank Pat for her ongoing devotion to history and her contributions to McKinney.
