Programs for Veterans, Service Members and Military Families Fueled by Donation
Avnet raised $15,000 through its annual Driving For Heroes golf event benefiting Hope For The Warriors, a national nonprofit dedicated to restoring a sense of self, family and hope for veterans, service members and military families.
Avnet is one of the world’s largest distributors of electronic components and embedded solutions serving customers around the world in more than 125 countries.
For the third year in a row, the Richardson-based Avnet office hosted its Driving For Heroes golf event inviting its customers and suppliers to join them in support of military members. In total, the annual event has raised more than $60,000 to support veterans, service members and military families through Hope For The Warriors.
“For the past three years, Avnet’s Richardson-based Avnet office has hosted the Driving For Heroes golf event raising more than $60,000 to assist U.S. military veterans, service members and their families,” said Melissa Gray, vice president corporate affairs for Avnet. “We’re proud of the initiative taken by our employees, and for the generosity of our customers and suppliers who help us support this worthy organization.”
Celebrating 11 years of service, Hope For The Warriors assists veterans, service members and military families with a variety of programming including transition services, clinical health and wellness, sports and recreation and community development and engagement.
“Hope For The Warriors is honored to have the continued support of Avnet, its employees, customers and suppliers,” said Robin Kelleher, co-founder and president of the nonprofit organization. “Hope For The Warriors supports a number of veterans, service members and military families across Texas so it’s always encouraging to see Texans pulling together to support their military community.”
