Community Lifeline Center [CLC], one of Collin County's most diverse human services organizations, is consolidating from two locations to its building at 1601 North Waddill Street in McKinney. Effective Saturday, Feb. 1, the organization, which serves 17 communities across Collin County, will house client services in the same building as administration and operations.
Asked about the change, Christine Hockin-Boyd noted, "As we begin to celebrate our 25th year in 2014, and reflect on how to best steward the funds our many donors entrust us with, it became clear that consolidating our physical space will allow us to be more efficient in all aspects of our mission. In recent months the securing of additional administration and operations office space helps make this possible.”
Asked about the impact on agency and client services, Hockin-Boyd added, "For case managers, clients, and especially now with our new Lifeline Market customers, communication is key. Proximity matters when it comes to managing complex client services."
Community Lifeline Center was founded in McKinney in 1989. CLC serves over 400 families and individuals a month, keeping people in their homes, utilities turned on, and food on the table. Services range from job search, budget, computer training, and family counseling, to rent, utilities and medical assistance. Community Lifeline Center reports that 90 days after CLC support, 84% of clients are able to remain in their homes, and there is a 55% increase in employment.
About the Community Lifeline Center
Community Lifeline Center (CLC) was born as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization in 1989 when a group of churches determined it was best to work together in supporting and meeting the needs of people in need. We’ve evolved and grown over the years but our original purpose remains unchanged: to be the premiere place for providing assistance, information and referral services for the residents of McKinney and north Collin County.
