The Boys & Girls Clubs of Collin County (BGCCC) largest fundraising event of the year will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2017, at the Frisco Embassy Suites Hotel & Convention Center. For 12 years, this annual gala has been the single largest funding source for programs that change the lives of thousands of youth in Collin County. Last year, the gala was the highest grossing event in the history of the clubs, exceeding the million-dollar goal for gross revenue.
Capital One is the presenting underwriter for the eighth year. This year’s theme is “Come Together” which expresses the importance of all of us working together with our young people to not only provide them with great futures, but to show them that with the support of family, individual and corporate supporters, they can reach their goals. The evening will emphasize the importance that volunteers, mentors, tutors and the support of our corporate partners all play in building our children to handle the future of our country.
“Each year we are amazed by the support we receive from the underwriters and sponsors as well as individual ticket holders who make this a special evening of giving and caring for the youth we serve” states Mike Simpson, CEO. “They hear a message from our children, alumni and families, on what BGCCC has meant to them and how it has impacted their lives. Attendees hear from young adults that have progressed through the clubs, graduated from college and now have successful careers and are productive, caring and responsible citizens of their communities.”
The funds generated at this year’s event will help the BGCCC continue to expand the number of children served, in the Collin County and North Texas area. “We saw an increase of over 20% at the end of last year, and with the continued influx of families, our ability to serve more children is critical. While the numerous corporations moving into this area bring some outstanding job opportunities for families, it also expands the need for high quality after school and summer programs where parents are ensured of a safe, nurturing environment. The same need applies to the thousands of service and supply workers needing a place for their children while mom and dad are on the job”
This year’s Chrysalis Ball will again feature the red carpet walk with BGCCC kids greeting the attendees. A four-course dinner including all refreshments, a reception and silent auction, plus a Live Auction and Sponsor a Child program as well as Casino themed after party. The emcee for the evening is Kris Gutierrez, News Anchor / Reporter for NBC 5 Dallas. The Limelight Band will provide the entertainment and dancing to close out a wonderful event benefiting the children of BGCCC.
