The League of Women Voters of Collin County invites the public to a free informational forum about the new electronic voting machines that Collin County plans to purchase in 2019. The forum will be Saturday, January 26, 10:30 a.m., at Schimelpfenig Library, 5024 Custer Road, Plano, TX 75023.
Collin County Elections Administrator Bruce Sherbet will talk about the proposed new voting machines, including the features, selection process and security.
All attendees are invited to socialize at 10:30, find out about upcoming LWV Collin County activities at 10:45, and learn about the voting machines at 11:00.
Collin County’s voting system review committee has recommended a voting system that incorporates touch-screen technology to produce a marked paper ballot for voter review and tabulation. The Elections Department will host a public viewing of the recommended voting system finalist on January 24 from 3–7 p.m. at 2010 Redbud Blvd., McKinney, TX 75069. An agenda item has been submitted for Commissioners Court consideration and approval on January 28.
