McKINNEY — The Boys & Girls Clubs of Collin County (BGCCC) announced that their Fourth Annual Charity Texas Hold ‘Em Poker Tournament is rescheduled to Thursday, March 19. The original date on Thursday, March 5, was cancelled due to weather. Again this year, the Title Sponsor is Money Matters with Ken Moraif and this is his fourth year as the Title Sponsor.
“Collin County continues to be one of the fastest growing counties in the country, and the cities of Frisco, McKinney and Plano, where we have branches represent some of the fastest growing cities. We continually must hold fundraisers like this in order to expand our nationally recognized programming to serve more Collin County children." said Mike Simpson, Chief Executive Officer of the BGCCC.
“I have supported the children of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Collin County for years and have seen the great job that the BGCCC does in helping these young people become productive, caring and responsible citizens in our communities," said Ken Moraif of Money Matters with Ken Moraif. "Having a safe, nurturing environment after school and during the summer is extremely important to enabling these children make the right decisions in life. They get help with academic and career programs, development of character and leadership skills while learning the importance of health and life skills.
"I want to do anything that I can do to give children the tools they need to improve their circumstances.”
This year’s event will be held again at Gleneagles Country Club, 5401 W. Park Blvd. in Plano and the doors open at 6 p.m. with seating at 7 p.m. The Medical Center of Plano is a major sponsor and additional sponsorship opportunities are still available. Individual players are to make a $100 donation to BGCCC. Prizes will be awarded at the end of the evening and blackjack will be available for guests that do not prefer poker for a $50 donation.
The BGCCC is also selling raffle tickets for a five-night stay in a beautiful four bedroom, five bath home in Punta Mita, Mexico. This 4,200 square-foot home that sleeps 8 people is located in a gated community on the remarkable Jack Nicklaus signature resort golf course.
