Patrons can experience a blast from the past through the exciting “Stetson and Stiletto Standoff” fundraiser at Collin College on Saturday, Feb. 21 at 6 p.m. inside the library at the Spring Creek Campus, 2800 E. Spring Creek Pkwy. in Plano.

In recognition of Collin College’s 30th anniversary, the standoff will feature a trivia competition inspired by the college’s founding year – 1985.

Teams will compete for the distinguished title of Stetson and Stiletto Champions with prizes awarded for the top three teams. To improve their odds of winning, patrons will have the chance to bid for help from Collin College professors lending their expertise through a lifeline auction.

In addition to fun and games, supporters help our community by providing scholarships to deserving students. Each scholarship will be awarded in the sponsors’ names and recognized at the annual Collin College scholarship banquet in August.

“A college education can have such a tremendous impact on a person’s life,” said Interim District President Dr. Colleen Smith. “Paying for college is a real concern for many students. In fact, more than 28,500 students requested assistance last year, and they desperately need our help to open the door to higher education. By raising money and making scholarships available to those who need it most, Collin College ensures access to excellent education, outstanding professors and state-of-the-art facilities.”

Sponsorship levels include the $25,000 Lone Star Partner, $15,000 Alamo Partner, $10,000 Rio Grande Partner, $5,000 Yellow Rose Partner and $2,500 Silver Spur Partner. Individual tickets are $125.
