Collin College student Sheena Prindle has been named a 2015 Coca-Cola Community College Academic Team Gold Scholar.

Prindle, of Wylie, received the distinction from a pool of more than 1,700 applicants and was awarded a $1,500 scholarship. The program is sponsored by the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation and is administered by Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.

Prindle is currently studying business at Collin College and plans to graduate with an Associate of Arts degree before transferring to a university for a bachelor's degree in accounting. She aspires to become a certified public accountant.

“Collin College is an outstanding institution where I have gained confidence in my intellectual, social, interpersonal and leadership capabilities, all of which are crucial to my future success,” Prindle said.

Prindle is the Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Alpha Mu Tau chapter Presidential Committee Chair and has previously received the PTK Distinguished Chapter Officer Team Award, Collin College Foundation Annual Scholarship and Martin Luther King Jr. Unity Scholarship.

She has provided service and leadership to Phi Theta Kappa honor society, Lions Club, UniteWomen, Rotaract, Hope's Door, Children's Medical Center, the Spina Bifida Association of North Texas, Relay for Life and the Martin Luther King Jr. Power Breakfast while balancing family and her studies.
