Aug. 1, 2016 – Preparing for college can be an overwhelming experience. Collin College is ready to help parents, students, counselors and community members with a wealth of diverse, tailored offerings. In addition to Destination College, the new College Knowledge Academy and College Express are now available.

This fall, Destination College will offer three, free readiness workshops including Test Taking Strategies and Finding and Applying for Scholarships.

College Knowledge Academy is a new program that offers affordable, accessible college exploration and preparation courses designed to help college-bound middle and high school students achieve their college dreams. Parents and students can prepare for success in obtaining selective college admission and competitive scholarships. Offerings include College Knowledge 101: Searching, Selecting, Securing, and Succeeding at Your Dream College!; Scholarship Search 101: Searching & Securing Scholarships; ACT Test Prep; SAT Test Prep; College Admission Essay Writing for Success; Ivy Dreams: Selective College Admission 101 for Parents & Students and Your Online College Admissions Footprint: Social Media, Your Online Portfolio, and College Admission.

Designed for parents, counselors and community members, College Express is a new program that offers free, on-demand sessions taught by experts at your site or at Collin College. Offerings include admissions application assistance, Texas Success Initiative (TSI) assessment, study skills seminars, career exploration and a financial aid workshop.
