Transitioning from high school to college is a significant life event, and along with the bright future college acceptance brings, comes many unknowns.

To address some of them, the Destination College program at Collin College will host its “I’m In! Now What?: Taking the Next Steps to Prepare for a Successful and Happy Transition to College” workshop from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 30 in the Living Legends Conference Center at the Spring Creek Campus, 2800 E. Spring Creek Parkway in Plano.

Dr. Cynthia Jenkins, co-author of “The Naked Roommate’s First Year Survival Workbook,” will provide workshop attendees with specific steps they can take to ensure a positive first year.

Brooke Ingersoll, Destination College coordinator, said the college is proud to host Dr. Cynthia Jenkins.

“She is a regional higher education consultant and has spent years developing curriculum for first year success programs and courses at the national level,” Ingersoll said. “ We are really looking forward to her insight and what she will have to share with regard to making sure a student's transition to college is a successful one.”
