McKinney Public Library Hours

Friday, Dec. 6, both the Hall and JJGL McKinney Public Library locations will be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Traffic Signals

Numerous Traffic Signals in McKinney have been affected by weather-related power outages. You may find traffic signal outages or temporary stop signs at various locations. Public Works is working on these issues as rapidly as possible.

Report Fallen Trees and Limbs in the Roadway

Email Public Works to report downed trees and other road blockages.

Public Works and Parks Maintenance Staff have been working most of the night and continue working this morning on the numerous trees and limbs down or partially blocking the streets. This will take several days to complete. The focus is on clearing emergency access first and only limbs and trees in the streets will be addressed at this time.

Fallen Trees and Limbs on Private Property

For downed limbs and trees on private property, call the city at 972-547-7350 to schedule a storm debris pickup. Place debris at the curb. The curb is either on the street or in the alley - wherever you usually place your trash and recycling containers. If curbside for you is the alley, and the debris is so large it blocks the road, place debris on the front curb. Curbside pickup of storm debris will begin when roadways have been cleared.

Caution: Icy Trees

Please exercise extreme caution for yourself and your children around trees with ice accumulation. There have been several reports of fallen and broken trees or branches.

Parks Facilities and Activities

All Parks, Recreation and Open Space facilities are closed Friday, Dec. 6 due to the weather. All activities are canceled.

Garbage and Recycling Pickup

Due to dangerous road conditions, Progressive Waste is suspending collection activities until further notice. Check back to this page for updates.

Polar Express – Breakfast with Santa

This event, originally scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 7, is canceled and will not be rescheduled.

McKinney Performing Arts Center

Visits with Santa are canceled for Friday, Dec. 6. Santa's sleigh is iced in somewhere in North Dakota.

Senior Center

The Friday night dance is canceled for Friday, Dec. 6.
