The McKinney Police Department and members of the US Marshal East Texas Task Force arrested 59 year old Benjamin Sanchez on Friday, November 9, 2012 in connection with the recent Aggravated Robberies in McKinney. The arrest occurred at the Value Place motel at 3401 N Central Expressway a little after 10pm.
The McKinney Police Department extends appreciation to members of the public who helped provide information that made this arrest possible.
Last week, McKinney Police requested the public's help in identifying an unknown white male who committed multiple Aggravated Robberies in McKinney and was believed to possibly be responsible for an Aggravated Robbery in Frisco, TX.
Around 2:00 pm, on Thursday, November 08, the McKinney Police responded to the US Post Office on N. Central Expressway reference this subject attempting to rob an elderly couple sitting in their car, in the post office parking lot. The suspect produced a handgun and demanded the couple’s money. The suspect was unsuccessful and then fled the scene.
The McKinney Police also responded to an aggravated robbery at the Subway restaurant located at 1521 N Custer Rd. The suspect entered the store, produced a handgun, and demanded money. He then fled with an undetermined amount of cash.
Sanchez is being held at the Collin County Detention Center with bond set at $100,000.
