Assistance from AARP begins Feb. 2; open to general public

The McKinney Public Library System will host free tax assistance every Friday and Saturday beginning Feb. 2 through April 14 at the Roy & Helen Hall Memorial Library, and every Monday* beginning Feb. 5 through April 16 at the John & Judy Gay Library (JJGL).

Tax assistance is provided by AARP and available from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Patrons should bring a photo ID, social security card and tax documents. Tax assistance is not limited to residents of McKinney.

Both libraries will have limited tax forms available and offer access to the IRS website from all database computers. A library card is not needed for this access.
