The last seven days of COVID-19 hospitalization numbers in North Texas (above 15% for seven days in a row in Trauma Service Area E - or TSA-E) has triggered some temporary changes in occupancy for businesses. In light of that, here's what we can expect:
- Businesses must limit their occupancy rate to 50%, per the Governor's Executive Order 32.
- Hospitals must postpone all surgeries and procedures not considered "medically necessary", per the Governor's Executive Order 31.
- Hospitals must reserve at least 10-percent of its capacity to treat COVID-19 patients. A hospital may reserve less than 10-percent if it belongs to a "hospital system" where the cumulative capacity is at least 10-percent, per Executive Order 31.
- Businesses can go back to operating at 75% capacity when TSA-E's COVID-19 hospitalization rate is below 15% for 7 consecutive days.
