McKINNEY (Dec. 18, 2013) – McKinney City Hall, the McKinney Municipal Courts building and city offices will be closed on Tuesday and Wednesday, Dec. 24-25, in observance of the Christmas holiday and also on Wednesday, Jan. 1 in observance of the New Year holiday.

Solid waste and recycling collections will change for both holidays. There will be a regular collection on Tuesday, Dec. 24, but there will not be a solid waste or recycling collection on Wednesday, Dec. 25. The regular Wednesday collection slides to Thursday Dec. 26, Thursday slides to Friday, and the Friday collection slides to Saturday Dec. 28. For the New Year’s holiday, there will be a regular collection on Tuesday, Dec. 31. There will be no solid waste or recycling collection on Wednesday, Jan. 1. The Wednesday collection slides to Thursday Jan. 2, Thursday slides to Friday, and the Friday collection slides to Saturday, Jan. 4.

McKinney facilities with special holiday hours:

  • Roy and Helen Hall Memorial Library and the John and Judy Gay Library – Will close at 6 p.m. on Dec. 23, 26, 30 and 31, and Jan. 2.
  • Oak Hollow Municipal Golf Course Clubhouse – Will close at noon on Dec. 24, closed Dec. 25. Open normal hours Jan. 1.
  • Dr Pepper StarCenter McKinney at Craig Ranch – Will close at 6 p.m. Dec. 24 and Dec. 31.
