HOUSTON (Sept. 4, 2014) — Urgent Care for Kids, the largest pediatric urgent care provider in Texas, announced plans for a new clinic in McKinney, slated to open on Tuesday, Sept. 9. The clinic was announced shortly after recent expansion in Houston and the opening of its first Austin-area clinic in August. Urgent Care for Kids selected the location for each of the new clinics by identifying key growth markets where it can respond to increased demand for high quality after-hours pediatric care.

“Our goal is to help families avoid the high costs of ER visits for urgent needs and ensure that their children are treated by providers specializing in pediatrics,” said Brian White, CEO of Urgent Care for Kids.

The expansion within the Dallas-Fort Worth market, along with the new clinics in Austin and Houston, make Urgent Care for Kids the largest pediatric urgent care provider in Texas with a total of nine clinics and a daily capacity to serve more than 900 patients statewide, without affecting wait times.

“As with all of our clinics, we’re looking to meet needs in rapidly growing communities underserved in terms of pediatric urgent care,” White continued. “We identified a similar need in McKinney and look forward to serving the children and families in this community.”

The McKinney clinic occupies 2,100 square feet and is located at 6171 Virginia Pkwy., next to the Stonebridge Ranch Beach Club.

Grand opening celebrations, which will be held on Thursday, Sept. 11, will be hosted on site, and, as part of the festivities, Urgent Care for Kids will be presenting a donation to McKinney ISD for the district’s free lunch program.
