The left and center main lanes of northbound Sam Rayburn Tollway (SRT) at Carrollton Parkway are now open following Tuesday afternoon’s 18-wheeler accident, according to the North Texas Tollway Authority (NTTA).
The northbound SRT Carrollton Parkway exit ramp remained closed to traffic as of 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. All southbound SRT lanes are open.
The accident wreckage continues to be loaded off the tollway. HazMat has been dispatched and is on scene for accident clean-up due to a diesel fuel spill.
The NTTA website, www.ntta.org, along with roadway message boards have been activated to alert drivers of the accident and closures.
The Texas Department of Transportation has also placed a portable message board on the north- and southbound lanes of Interstate 35E to alert drivers wishing to exit northbound SRT.
The Department of Public Safety worked an 18-wheeler accident/vehicle fire on the northbound SRT at the Carrollton Parkway exit on Tuesday afternoon. The accident shut down the busy toll road for at least an hour during the evening rush hour.
