PRINCETON – The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) started a project on Thursday to repair a culvert on FM 75 (Main Street) at 3rd Street in downtown Princeton. The culvert runs diagonally across the intersection, necessitating the closure of both streets at the intersection.
Both streets, in all directions, will remain continuously closed until the culvert is repaired.
Completion is expected to be no later than 5 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 15. While the culvert repair is not expected to go past Aug.15, any inclement weather could delay the project.
- From U.S. 380 (Princeton Drive), traffic heading north on 3rd should go north on 4th instead and travel east or west on McKinney Street to reach destinations on the north end of 3rd Street.
- Motorists on Princeton Drive headed to Main Street can go north on 4th Street, turn west on McKinney Street and turn south on 2nd Street to reach Main Street west of the closure.
Portable changeable message signs have been placed to inform motorists in advance of the closure.
TxDOT asks motorists to drive carefully through the work zone and thanks area drivers for their patience and cooperation as crews work to complete this project as soon and as safely as possible.
