Trader Joe's celebrates their grand opening and ribbon cutting Friday morning (Sept. 19, 2014) with a group of more than 100 eager guests.
Their festive décor sprawls a brightly lit 11,600 square feet. Located at Craig Drive and the service road of U.S. 75 (Central Expressway), their "crew members" welcomed customers with leis and applause.
Crew members sport brightly colored Hawaiian-themed shirts, adding to the friendly and light-hearted air of the store. Live steel drum music set a stage of excitement as area customers rushed into the eagerly anticipated location.
According to an earlier news release, Trader Joe's carries an extensive array of domestic and imported foods and beverages, including artisan breads, Arabica bean coffees, international frozen entrées, 100% juices, fresh crop nuts, deli items, vitamins, and more, as well as the basics, like milk and eggs – all at honest, low prices. They buy differently than other grocers – they purchase from manufacturers, not through distributors. They’ll take a brand name product, take out the preservatives and artificial colors and ingredients, and put it under their Trader Joe’s label to sell it at a real discount.
Trader Joe's is located at 2975 Craig Dr., Ste. 100, inside the Eldorado Plaza shopping center in McKinney. For more information, visit them online at traderjoes.com.
