The Board of Directors of the Volunteer McKinney Center is pleased to announce that the organization has hired a new executive director.
Dana Riley took over the role of executive director on as of June 18. She brings to her new post more than 20 years of experience working with volunteers in government and non-profit settings.
She is well-known for her public speaking ability and has served as a consultant and trainer to corporations, government agencies and non-profits across the country regarding volunteerism, community partnerships, volunteer management and emergency preparedness.
“I am excited to become a part of the Volunteer McKinney Center where I can use the skills and insight I have gained over my career to make a difference in this community," Riley said in a news release. "The McKinney area has so many wonderful non-profits and community groups. I am honored to get to work alongside them as we serve.”
Mike Foster, Volunteer McKinney Center Board President, said Riley would do a wonderful job leading the organization.
“The Board is excited to have Dana Riley leading us in our efforts to serve this community,” he said.
Since 1998, the Volunteer McKinney Center has served this community through volunteer recruitment, community event planning and support of local non-profits through training and networking
Riley said that plans for the future include a new interactive website that will help citizens find a volunteer opportunity that is right for them. The organization is also planning new events and programs that will meet the needs of the growing community.
