Chestnut Square Historic Village has once again signed up for Macy's Shop for a Cause Event. Since 2006, Macy's Shop for a Cause has partnered with non-profit organizations nationwide to raise more than $45 million for their ongoing charitable efforts.
Chestnut Square Historic Village is a collection of six historic homes, a replica of a one-room school house, chapel and store on 2½ acres just south of the downtown McKinney square. The grounds also include a blacksmith shop, smoke house and beautiful chapel and reception gardens. The buildings include period artifacts showing how people lived in Collin County from 1854-1920. The mission of Chestnut Square Historic Village is to preserve and perpetuate the heritage of Collin County.
The 2013 goal is to raise $1,000 through Shop for a Cause. To meet that goal, 200 $5 Shopping Passes need to be sold. The passes provide exclusive savings in every Macy's store on Saturday, Aug. 24.
The best part is that Chestnut Square keeps 100 percent of the $5 purchase price of the pass and supporters get the opportunity to save 25 percent throughout the Macy's store, even on brands like Coach and Michael Kohrs that are usually excluded in coupon offers. It’s a great opp0rtunity ... and just in time for back to school!
Cindy Johnson, Executive Director of The Heritage Guild of Collin County, writes in an open letter that Chestnut Square needs volunteer help. If every volunteer signs up to sell five tickets, they'll meet our goal. Call Alice Yeager at 972-562-8790 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org to sign up to sell passes.
Sue Riley will be the liaison for this event and will be supervising the sale of passes. She will touch base with you weekly to record your sales.
