Are you ready to serve on a board, make a difference, get involved and learn about giving back?

McKinney residents can meet representatives from area nonprofits and city boards and commissions at the SERVE MCKINNEY Open House on Thursday, June 21, 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. at the McKinney Chamber of Commerce, 2150 S. Central Expressway.

This event will offer attendees the chance to learn more about each organization and their needs for volunteers. With over 50 nonprofit organizations and 20 city boards and commissions invited, there will be countless opportunities for both the attendees and the organizations to make the perfect connection.

SERVE MCKINNEY is sponsored by the McKinney Community Development Corporation, and Executive Director Cindy Schneible shared why they chose to participate: “The McKinney Community Development Corporation is supporting SERVE MCKINNEY because we recognize that citizen engagement is a cornerstone to a strong and dynamic community – one that provides an outstanding quality of life for residents and attracts businesses and tourists to fuel economic growth.”

The SERVE MCKINNEY event is open to the public and there is no charge. It is hosted by the Leadership McKinney Alumni Network. For more information about SERVE MCKINNEY, visit mckinneychamber.com or call 972.542.0163.
