The North Texas Tollway Authority has been recognized by the Government Finance Officer Association of the United States and Canada with a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for the NTTA’s Special Projects System 2011 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report.
The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental account and financial reporting.
The NTTA Board of Directors acknowledged the award at its meeting this week.
“This award is a stamp of approval that the NTTA’s accounting and financial work is being done to a very high standard,” said NTTA Chairman Kenneth Barr. “I am very pleased that the Authority has been recognized and I commend Comptroller Ray Zies and his accounting staff for their efforts.”
In order to receive the award, the NTTA’s Comprehensive Annual Financial Report was judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program, including demonstrating a constructive spirit of full disclosure to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users to read the CAFR.
The GFOA is a nonprofit professional association serving more than 17,600 government finance professionals throughout North America. The GFOA’s Distinguished Budget Presentations Awards program is the only national awards program in government budgeting.
