Nightly frontage road closures are scheduled from July 30 through the morning of Aug. 1 on the western portion of the Sam Rayburn Tollway (SRT), according to the North Texas Tollway Authority.
The following closures will take place on the SRT frontage roads:
- All southwest-bound SRT frontage road (State Highway 121) lanes between Lake Vista Drive and MacArthur Boulevard will be closed from 9 p.m. Monday, July 30 through 5 a.m. Tuesday, July 31. Southwest-bound traffic will be detoured north on Lake Vista Drive to Vista Ridge Mall Drive, then west on Vista Ridge Mall Drive to MacArthur Boulevard and south on MacArthur Boulevard to SH 121.
- All northeast-bound SRT frontage road (SH 121) lanes between MacArthur Boulevard and Lake Vista Drive will be closed from 9 p.m. Tuesday, July 31 through 5 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 1. Northeast-bound traffic will be detoured south on MacArthur Boulevard to Lake Vista Drive, then east on Lake Vista Drive to SH 121.
The closures are part of the NTTA Maintenance Department’s ongoing pavement repair project on the SRT. During the project, cracked or deteriorated pavement on the toll road’s main lanes and frontage roads will be removed and replaced.
Other areas of the SRT that will undergo the pavement repairs will include frontage roads near Interstate 35E and SRT main lanes between the I-35E interchange and Hebron Parkway. The entire project will end in September, weather permitting. Additional lane/ramp closures will be announced, as needed.
Message boards will be placed along the roadway to alert motorists of the closures. All closures are subject to weather conditions and will be postponed, if necessary.
