McKINNEY (May 2, 2016) — The McKinney Fire Department (MFD) will host a pre-employment “How to Become a McKinney Firefighter” workshop on Monday, May 16 at 6 p.m. in the Conference Center of the Collin College Central Park Campus, 2200 W. University Dr.

The informational session will cover the hiring process, prerequisite requirements for the entrance exam, employment opportunities and benefits. Applicants can also participate in a practice session of the firefighter physical ability test (PAT) on Saturday, May 21 from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. at McKinney Fire Station #2, 2001 Community Ave.

In addition to representatives of the MFD, Collin College Fire Academy and the City of McKinney Human Resources Department will have representatives available to answer questions.

Applications will be accepted through Friday, May 20 at 5 p.m. Applicants who meet the minimum requirements will be notified via email with details for the entrance exam that will be offered on Friday, June 3.
