AUSTIN (July 11, 2014) — The Texas Academy of General Dentistry (TAGD) is pleased to announce that Lauren E. Standefer, DDS FAGD, FIDIA of McKinney, Texas joins just 587 dentists in the state of Texas as a recipient of the Fellowship Award. She received the award during the Academy of General Dentistry’s (AGD) 2014 Annual Meeting & Exhibits, held June 27-28 in Detroit.
The Fellowship Award is presented to dentists who seek to provide the highest quality of dental care by remaining current in their profession. To accomplish this goal, Dr. Standefer completed 500 hours of continuing dental education, passed a comprehensive exam, and fulfilled eight years of continuous membership in the AGD. TAGD Fellows understand that providing great smiles and good oral health for their patients are the result of going above and beyond basic requirements.
“We are proud to honor Dr. Standefer for her commitment in reaching this lofty goal,” says AGD President W. Carter Brown, DMD, FAGD. “She has distinguished herself professionally among her peers and is a role model for both her fellow dentists and the McKinney community.”
Dr. Standefer graduated from Baylor College of Dentistry in 2009 and currently practices dentistry in McKinney, Texas. In addition to the AGD, Dr. Standefer is a member of the American Dentist Association, Chamber of Commerce and Modern Texas Dental Study Club.
Dedicated to providing free dental care to those in need, Dr. Standefer is an active volunteer for Dentistry from the Heart. She donates her time and resources to host an event each year to reach out to those in need making them aware of the services available to them.
