The McKinney Convention and Visitors Bureau is in the market for new office space.
The McKinney CVB is currently located at 1575 Heritage Drive after signing a short-term lease.
Executive Director Diann Bayes reported to the McKinney City Council this week that she has been working closely with the Board of Directors to identify and secure a location.
The McKinney CVB Board has determined that the best option for the new location would be in close proximity to the historic downtown square.
Bayes noted that “downtown is where the visitors are.” She said she believed the CVB could provide better service to its key constituency from a downtown location and could work with volunteers to have weekend hours from a more visible downtown location.
A potential location has been identified and the CVB Board is working with a local realtor to review and possibly execute the lease agreement.
