Diann Bayes, the director of the McKinney Convention & Visitors Bureau, has announced that she is leaving her current role in May to become senior vice president of membership with the Texas Travel Industry Association in Austin.

"It has been my pleasure serving as the Executive Director of the MCVB over the past 5+ years," Bayes said in an email sent to community leaders. "I am incredibly proud of the accomplishments of the CVB and the hard work and dedication of the staff and Board of Directors in marketing McKinney as the Destination of Choices.

"Once at TTIA, I will continue to serve McKinney in more of a support position, as we market the importance of the Travel & Tourism Industry as an economic driver, continue our advocacy efforts and share with the citizens and the nation that Life’s Better in a State of Travel," Bayes added.

 David Teel, president and CEO of the Texas Travel Industry Association, sent the following details to all members:

I am pleased to announce that Diann Bayes, executive director of the McKinney CVB, will be joining TTIA as our new Senior Vice President of Member Services. 

In this leadership position, Diann will be responsible for managing TTIA's member services and relations program, including: member recruitment, development and retention; strategic business partnerships including sponsorships, and oversight of the events & meetings functions. Our Director of Events, Jennifer Roush, and our Membership Coordinator, Jennifer Baker, will be joining Diann's Member Services team.

 I am thrilled and pleased to have such a respected, experienced and qualified industry professional joining our team. Diann will help us aggressively implement member-focused strategies and initiatives and ensure that we are proving daily that Life's Better in a State of Travel for our members.

Terri Adams,  Chair of the TTIA Board of Directors and Chief Operating Officer of Schlitterbahn Waterparks, has this to say: "Diann will be an excellent addition to the TTIA staff.  I look forward to all the experience she will bring to the great team already in place."

Diann is a 16-year veteran of the travel and hospitality industry. She is the Chair of the Board of the Dallas-Fort Worth Area Tourism Council and sits on the Board of Directors of the Texas Association of Convention & Visitors Bureaus.

"I am very excited to be joining TTIA," Bayes said. "I look forward to the new challenge and the opportunity for me to serve the TTIA membership and impact the state's travel industry."

 Diann previously held the positions of Executive Director of the Hillsboro Chamber of Commerce & CVB and Tourism Sales Manager at the Manhattan, Kansas Convention & Visitors Bureau.
