The McKinney Chamber is excited to announce two new employees that have joined our team in October!

Amanda Connolly is the new Events Manager for the McKinney Chamber of Commerce. She has her bachelor’s degree from UT Tyler. She has over 15 years of event experience, including three years at a chamber in Washington State. Amanda loves cultivating relationships, bringing people together and celebrating pretty much anything with a detailed and well-executed event. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters - and you can guarantee she’s already plotting and planning the next birthday party theme.

Tami Tobar is the new Investor Relations Manager for the McKinney Chamber of Commerce. Her role will focus on membership onboarding, engagement and retention.

Tobar is no stranger to the McKinney Chamber. As a former member and Ambassador with the McKinney Chamber, Tami was the Business Services and Child Watch Director for the McKinney YMCA for the last 15 years. There she wore many hats and handled a wide range of items.  During her tenure with the McKinney YMCA she was part of many changes and the evolution of the organization. She appreciates the many long-term relationships she has with members and staff.

She is a proud graduate of the Leadership McKinney Class of 2018 and is thrilled that her new role will allow her to continue to work closely with our valued Ambassador Program.

Tami has lived in McKinney for the last 20 years with her husband, three boys and two fur babies.  In her free time, she loves traveling, shopping and volunteering with the many nonprofit organizations in McKinney.

“We are excited to welcome both Amanda and Tami to the Chamber staff,” said Lisa Hermes, McKinney Chamber President. “They bring talent and expertise to our organization and are a valuable addition to our team.”
