Lloyd and Mary Cooper, founders and owners of Benefit Bidding, are well known in the world of quilt auctions. Since 2006, they helped the Alzheimer's Art Quilt Initiative® raise $1.1 million for Alzheimer’s research. They have also been the auction partner of the Dallas Quilters’ Guild for over 20 years.

“We do all kinds of auctions," said Lloyd. “Both live and silent, we’ve done galas and golf tournaments, fundraisers for churches, Chambers of Commerce, sporting and hunting events, private schools, parks and nature efforts, animal protection and hunger relief and our passion, Cystic Fibrosis. The list goes on and on, but for over 20 years, we have been hosting quilt auctions. Quilters, and quilt supporters from all over the world, have been to our online auction site.”

Benefit Bidding was awarded the contract to host the fundraising auction of the American Quilter’s Society 2014 QuiltWeek™, benefitting the National Quilt Museum in Paducah, Ky. Paducah transforms to Quilt City USA® each spring when 30,000 international and domestic quilters attend AQS QuiltWeek™ – Paducah. Visitors from every continent and every corner of the United States come together to celebrate the most exquisite quilts being created today. QuiltWeek will be held April 23-26, and the online auction began recently.

Benefit Bidding - Lloyd and Mary Cooper

Press from the museum states that “the online auction system is highly dynamic ... bidders will be informed immediately if they have been outbid.” Benefit Bidding was approached about the museum’s event after hosting many other auctions for quilting organizations.

“In the metroplex we’ve conducted auctions for Easter Seals, the Arthritis Foundation, Cystic Fibrosis, Camp Summit, and many others. From non-events (online auctions only), to events with 1500 attendees, we can do it. We coded our own online and mobile bidding sites, which clearly sets us apart from other companies.”

“Locally, we’ve worked with Neil Sperry on the Crape Myrtle Trails – and conducted fundraisers for the McKinney Chamber, the Holy Family School, St. Peter’s Episcopal Empty Bowls and St. Michael’s Society of St. Vincent de Paul event. But somehow, we are the go-to auctioneers for quilters across the country. In fact, about 70 of our auctions are nationwide. We must be the best kept secret in McKinney!”
