McKINNEY (June 10, 2014) — Hope Resource Center of McKinney has officially changed their name to Hope Women’s Center. This change is in line with the organization’s vision to meet the needs of teens and women facing unplanned pregnancies.

In the official ribbon cutting ceremony, Scott Campbell, Board President, shared his desire to meet the needs of every teen and woman facing the daunting decisions placed before them when the reality of pregnancy touches their lives. Campbell shared before a group of community leaders and supporters, “we want to be a beacon of hope in this community and be there for every teen and woman that faces such a difficult decision.”

Hope Women’s Center is making themselves known in the community through their desire to not only serve with excellence, but to partner with area schools, medical facilities and businesses that may find their students, clients or employees facing hard decisions about pregnancy. Melissa Shaver, Executive Director of Hope Women’s Center, stated, “Every teen and woman who finds themselves in an unplanned pregnancy deserves to know the facts regarding their pregnancy and the options they have. We are here to help them through that decision-making process.”

Hope Women’s Center is a 501c3 non-profit organization serving the community through medical services including pregnancy testing, ultrasound, and STD testing. They also have trained staff to serve in the areas of options education and post-abortive support.
