Alexandria, VA. (July 23, 2019) – Lisa Hermes has been awarded the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives 2019 40 Under 40 award.
The 40 Under 40 award is a new honor presented by the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives (ACCE) meant to highlight the brightest men and women under the age of 40 in the chamber industry.
This award recognizes young professionals that have demonstrated significant success in their career as well as having made noteworthy contributions to their community. Each award recipient has made a remarkable impact on the chamber industry, fostering a positive impact in their community.
This year’s competition drew over 118 nominations on behalf of young professionals in the chamber industry. Candidates for this honor demonstrated meaningful involvement in the advancement of their community and proven professional success within their chamber.
Lisa Hermes is the president of the McKinney Chamber of Commerce since October 2014. Lisa has extensive work with Chambers beginning in 2006 at the McKinney Chamber of Commerce as their Communications and Public Policy Director. She later served as President of the Rowlett Chamber and later Vice President of the Lewisville Chamber and President of the Metrocrest Chamber which serves the Addison, Carrollton and Farmers Branch area. Her background is in journalism where she began her professional career at the Star Group of Newspapers in Burleson. Before venturing into the Chamber industry, she was the managing editor of Inside Collin County Business.
She also graduated from the Institute of Organizational Management through the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in 2009 and most recently earned her Certified Chamber Executive designation, the highest level of certification for a Chamber executive. She also was named one of the top 40 under 40 by the Dallas Business Journal in 2018. In addition to her work in the industry, Lisa serves on the Texas Association of Business Board, North Texas Commission Board, Imagine International Academy of North Texas, and the Community Lifeline Center Board.
The full Forty Under 40 class was announced publicly at the ACCE Annual Convention in Long Beach, California. Following convention, award recipients will be featured in the summer 2019 Chamber Executive magazine issue set to release in August.
