Leadership McKinney Alumni and the new Leadership McKinney Class of 2013 celebrated the program's 25th anniversary during a recent reception and new class orientation.
To welcome the new Leadership class, Leadership McKinney alumni have been challenged for the past two years to raise money to send the new class on its annual retreat.
This year, the alumni surpassed their goal and broke an all-time record by raising more than $1,300. The Class of 2007 raised the most money and will celebrate with a pizza party donated by Doc Vranici, a program alum and owner of Brother’s Pizza in McKinney.
To date, 458 community members have graduated from the Leadership McKinney program, and most began their journey on the retreat. Today, Aug. 16, the Class of 2013 will head to Alba, Texas, coming together to begin the community leadership dialogue.
Leadership McKinney, a program of the McKinney Chamber of Commerce, is designed to develop awareness of the McKinney community, provide personal leadership training and enhance networking for positive accomplishments throughout the community. The opening retreat establishes the communication process that is so critical to the success of all of these components.
