Since it opened on the Historic Downtown McKinney Square in late summer, designTEN 1 Interiors (DT1) has been impressing visitors and clients with its fresh designs and innovative interior design concept.
The boutique includes a designBAR, home accessories with a fresh new appeal, one-of-a-kind furniture, art, and a splash of antiques as well as design services -- a boutique different from anything else on the Square.
Key highlights include:
- The store offers old and new collectibles to bring fresh ideas while incorporating traditional pieces.
- Custom furniture sourced from all over the world is then given a face-lift to make them one of a kind.
- Sustainability is important to DT1, so talent takes hold by taking current pieces in the home and revitalizing them instead of starting from square one.
- The designBAR within the store is a revolutionary concept for interior decorating. The designBAR makes designing fun, exciting and affordable.
For the do-it-yourself customer, pull up a chair to be inspired at the designBAR, where you can work with a designer to select paint colors to textiles, fabrics to wallpapers and any other concepts to make your home your palace.
DT1 will give you the tools to do it yourself or its professional staff will manage the project from conception to completion, all structured to meet your personal budget with an affordable pricing menu. DT1 keeps it simple.
designTEN1 started as an interior design company in 2010. Designer Jennifer Akerman brought a style of mixing classic accessories with current modern ideas to create a fresh, elegant style designTEN 1 calls MODASIC (modern and classic).
In 2012 DT1 opened a boutique, designTEN1 Interiors, and designBAR on the historic McKinney square, offering MODASIC home accessories, one of a kind furniture, art and design services in home or at the designBAR by appointment.
"I find that people have a good idea of what they want their spaces to look like as a final outcome but they don’t know how to get from point A to point B to make their space is desirable," Akerman said. "Decorating with fabrics, furniture, fixtures and more should be a goal anyone can obtain while having fun with designTen 1 to accomplish the final product."
