McKINNEY (June 2, 2016) — Independent Bank Group Inc. (NASDAQ: IBTX), the holding company for Independent Bank, announced the recipients of its 2016 Community Grant program; which support initiatives focused on building healthy communities. For 2016, the bank pledged $250,000 to 21 charitable organizations operating in the North Texas, Waco, Austin and Houston markets.
Now in its second year, the Independent Bank grant program is experiencing exciting growth. The bank received twice the number of Letters of Inquiry this year. Applications were then reviewed by a committee of employees, as well as Community Reinvestment Act staff members

Through the grant process, Independent Bank encourages organizations to complete projects in partnership, cooperation, and consultation with other agencies, including those that demonstrate effective use of volunteers. Projects are chosen based on funding priorities that include Health and Human Services, Education, and Community Development issues.
