Independent Bank Group, the McKinney-based holding company for Independent Bank, announced Tuesday that it has completed the acquisition of United Community Bank, a Highland Village-based bank.

The acquisition expands Independent Bank Group’s presence in the Dallas area to 22 locations.

With 31 locations throughout North and Central Texas, Independent Bank is increasing its reach, while maintaining its commitment to its customers.

The transaction will provide United Community Bank customers with broader lending capabilities, and array of products and services.

The transaction brings Independent Bank Group’s aggregate holdings to more than 330 employees at 31 banking locations and two full-service mortgage offices, with combined assets of more than $1.6 billion.
