When:   Sunday, August 27, 2017, in morning worship services at 9:15 and 10:45am

Where: First Baptist McKinney, 1615 West Louisiana Street, McKinney, Texas  75069

Meet Sam:  Sam grew up with five brothers at the Salesmanship Club Youth Camp in East Texas where his parents worked with emotionally disturbed teens. After graduating from Baylor, he joined the Pine Cove staff team in 2001 and became the Crier Creek Family Camp Director in 2003. In 2011, God called Sam from Pine Cove to Park Cities Baptist as Teaching Pastor.  While on staff at Park Cities, Sam preached 40+ Sundays a year and led the Young Adult Ministry, Welcome Teams, Men’s Ministry and Discipleship Groups. Sam, a Baylor graduate, has his Masters of Divinity from Southwestern Theological Seminary and is currently finishing his Doctorate in Exegetical Preaching at Dallas Theological Seminary.

Sam and Rebecca, a Texas A&M grad, have been married for 11 years. They have two girls, Anna (9) and Ellie (2). Sam desires to teach the Bible in an authentic way, allowing others to see clearly what it says, understand what it means and apply it to their lives. He passionately believes that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is the only life-transforming message worth dying for.

“Sam is a gifted leader and teacher with a passion for God’s Word, His Church and being intentional about connecting people to a deeper walk with Christ.”   -Lance Spivey, Chairman Pastor Search Committee

“Sam is the right guy at the right time to be the leader of First McKinney. He has a unique ability to authentically communicate God’s word and has a passion for discipleship through personal relationships.  This is the perfect mix for the next season of growth at First McKinney and Kingdom impact beyond the walls of our church!” - -Lance Bauslaugh, Church member

First McKinney's vision is to ignite a movement of multicultural people who engage their neighbors, the nations of the world and the next generation with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Through dynamic teaching and missional leadership, First McKinney is leaving a legacy here and around the world. Family-focused ministries and events are the core to a missional church that seeks to impact both the people within the walls of the church and the community outside. Through focused activities, including 15 mission trips a year, countless service projects, and thousands of donors who give to benevolent causes, we seek to be a blessing in action and words to those who are not blessed.  Come and discover what makes First McKinney unique in one of our worship services at 9:15am or 10:45am.
