As part of the ongoing Texas Department of Transportation project to widen U.S. 75 from the Sam Rayburn Tollway (SRT) to White Avenue in McKinney, TxDOT has informed the City of the following exit ramp closure:
ELDORADO PARKWAY EXIT RAMP FROM THE NORTHBOUND SRT DIRECT CONNECTOR
Closed until further notice beginning at 9 p.m. Friday night, March 8
This exit ramp was closed then re-opened last year. Work in the area has progressed to the point where it must be closed again for an extended period to allow construction to continue. Detour signs will be posted to direct motorists by an alternate route.
The northbound frontage road and the Eldorado Parkway exit ramp from northbound U.S. 75 will both be closed temporarily overnight only to make this traffic switch. They will both be open again on Saturday and are set to remain open.
The date for this work is tentative depending upon the weather and other unforeseen circumstances. As a reminder, this TxDOT construction project to widen U.S. 75 to four main lanes in each direction and three frontage road lanes in each direction will provide much needed extra capacity to the roadway. The project is anticipated to be complete in 2015.
Please be safe when traveling through the work zone and always observe traffic warning signs.
