Women are a major force in the local business community, and their influence is expanding to new sectors of our increasingly diversified economy. Women now comprise 47 percent of the total U.S. labor force, and economists project that females will account for 51 percent of the increase in the total labor force between 2008 and 2018.
The McKinney Chamber of Commerce recognizes the importance of women in the workforce by supporting programs such as the annual Top 25 Women in Business and Women’s Alliance of McKinney. McKinney Magazine asked our readers to identify women they believe make outstanding contributions to the community, through their professional life as well as their civic commitments.
