The number of women in the workforce is expected to increase faster for women than for men through 2020. As the number of women entering the labor force continues to increase, it is more important than ever that programs and services right here in McKinney support their success. The Women’s Alliance of McKinney (WAM) and the annual Top 25 Women in Business are two such McKinney Chamber of Commerce programs that do just that.

Each year, McKinney Magazine asks readers to nominate outstanding business women. All nominees are reviewed by a volunteer selection committee who then name the final Top 25 Women in Business. We would like to thank this year’s selection committee: Sheila Johnson, Sarah Marshall and Lynne Sipiora. These women have, in previous years, been honored for their commitment to McKinney as well. They value the program, the Chamber and McKinney Magazine’s commitment to supporting McKinney’s business community.
“Being a part of a program like the Top 25 Women in Business is an honor,” said Scott Peek, President of Baylor Medical Center at McKinney, program sponsor of McKinney Magazine’s 2014 Top 25 Women in Business. “It’s important to recognize others for their hard work and dedication. The contributions these women make to the community are immeasurable. McKinney is blessed to be the beneficiary of those efforts.”
WAM is a program of the McKinney Chamber of Commerce that promotes, supports and empowers women in business through networking, business education and recognition. Events include an annual Crawfish Boil, Nothing but Networking and Shop, Walk & Wine. Visit McKinneyChamber.com/WAM for to get involved.
If you’re lucky enough to know any of this year’s winners, take time to thank them for all they do.
