Who are you and what is the name of your business?
Paul (Monty) Renfro & Robin Wornhor Advanced Medical Pediatric Home Health
What inspired you to start your business?
Our passion to deliver a pediatric home health experience that we felt was unavailable in our current market. We wanted to change the culture of this environment compared to what we had experienced from other providers in the past. Our focus is an unwavering commitment to service of our clients and our employees.
What services or products do you offer?
Home health services that include private duty nursing and skilled nursing visits.
What is unique about your business?
We are a nurse owned and operated agency with over 25 years of combined nursing experience. We believe that our vision toward service is what makes us unique and that financial success is simply a biproduct of excellent service.
How does your business give back to the community?
We regularly volunteer our time to serve at events in the community that focus on serving others. An example of this type of event is “Challenge Air”. This event is special to our clients as it gives our children an opportunity to experience the joys of flying.
What obstacles did you have to overcome to get to where you are today?
We continue to face great obstacles every day in this industry. Some examples of these obstacles are: 1. Dysfunction within the State contracting processes causing delays in care to our clients. 2. Receiving payments for the services rendered. 3. Authorization denials for our clients that truly need nursing services. 4. A shortage of qualified nursing staff throughout the state.
What methods have you used to grow your business?
Social Media, word of mouth, community events for special needs children, marketing to hospitals and specialty clinics.
What is the secret to keeping happy customers?
Communication is key! We strive to communicate effectively with our clients and staff. We also believe that in this industry we are leaders in patient advocacy. We stand up for those that sometimes cannot stand up for themselves.
Who has been your greatest inspiration?
We are inspired by Jesus Christ. His commitment to service of others is a guide for all of us to follow. Though we often fail to meet the mark; we strive to be better each day and are thankful for the opportunities that each day brings.
What is your most/least favorite thing about your business?
Our favorite thing about the business is being awarded the opportunity to serve the underserved. Our least favorite thing is the constant battle for fair and timely reimbursement for the services we render.
Where do you see your business going in the future?
We plan to remain in McKinney with our corporate office and grow out our client base all over the state of Texas. We believe that our business will see exponential growth over the next two years. We have a service model that is unmatched and we know that once families realize that our option exists; the decision for them to utilize our agency will be an easy one.
To what do you attribute your success?
A commitment to service of others and a dedication to advocating for the rights of our clients.
How are you involved in the chamber and what is the effect on your business?
We have been a chamber member for three years. The chamber has given us a fantastic opportunity to network with other business professionals in our city. This networking has helped us to overcome some of the hardships of starting a new business.
What’s the best advice you would give a new chamber member to get the most out of their membership?
I would recommend that any new member take advantage of the opportunities to network with other members.
