A ribbon cutting ceremony was held recently in celebration of the merger of Emeritus Senior Living with Brookdale Senior Living.
The new name of the community located at 1650 Stonebridge Dr. in McKinney is now Brookdale Stonebridge Ranch Assisted Living and Alzheimer's Care Community. It was formerly known as Emeritus at Stonebridge Ranch Assisted Living and Memory Care Community.
Brookdale Stonebridge Ranch opened their doors in 1997 as one of the first of its kind in the area to provide services to seniors in need of assistance with the activities of daily living in addition to socialization with other seniors.
Brookdale brings over 30 years of senior living experience to the area and they plan to continue to provide and enhance the services McKinney residents have grown to expect from the tenured and caring Stonebridge Ranch staff.
The ribbon was cut by Brookdale's “eldest” and “wisest” resident, Maurine Peters. She was assisted by her son Manley.
Brookdale also celebrated Edna Bolin, a long-term resident at Brookdale Stonebridge Ranch and a major contributor to McKinney history. Bolin and her deceased husband, W. Perry, owned Bolin Oil Company in McKinney and also founded the Bolin Wildlife Exhibit in McKinney. She has been a loyal resident of Brookdale Stonebridge Ranch for more than eight years. It seems that she is known by almost everyone who visits the community.
